Service Description

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. ​ Duration This blended course consists of 6 hours e-learning and 2 days face to face classroom training which consists of both theory and practical sessions. ​ Syllabus During this 3 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to confidently deal with a variety of first aid situations. Topics include: Role of the first aider Managing an unresponsive casualty Seizures Adult CPR Heart attacks Choking Head and spinal injuries Sprains, Strains, Dislocations, Fractures Poisoning Anaphylaxis Burns and Scalds Wounds and Bleeding Eye injuries Diabetic emergency Asthma Use of a Defibrillator ​ Assessments and Certification Continuous assessment throughout the course plus practical assessments and 2 theory multiple choice questions papers. Successful learners will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years as well as a plastic aide memoire.
